Life gives you reasons to write your blog I guess, and that is why after a long time of solitude(is that the correct word?), I come again with something.
Something I was looking for, something or someone worth writing about. And god listens. He sends me Imran Khan.
Let me first clarify. He is not a celebrity and not the one you probably are thinking about. He is a normal person with a celeb name. But then what is the point writing about him?? Simplicity.
Let me not waste your time and start the story.
“..hello…beta you should come to his marriage.”
“my xams are comming.”
“take two days holiday….”
“olrite…i will come …bubye”
Saying this I ended up the phone call with my mother. It was my brother’s marriage and I was eager to attend it, although my exams were approaching. But I decided to come back two days before the exams.
So, I packed my bags and rushed away to the bus stand. I went to a private bus service and took the tickets for the 8 pm bus. An autorickshaw driver escorted me(atleast someone escorted me.!) to the place where I was to wait for the bus. It was 7 30 and I had to eat something.
So, I left my lugguage at the stopping place and left to a “BHARTIYA BHOJNALAYA”. It was the name of the restaurant where you can get the bhartiya thali for Rs 30. So, I went in, ordered for a thali and fixed myself on one of the seat.
The food was good but something happened which was kind of ridiculuous for a person like me who doesnt eat everything and anything. As I was eating, I noticed a banner stuck on the wall. It said
“…if you left anything in your plate you will be charged Rs 5 extra for it…”
Paying for not eating??? And what if you leave it untouched?? Well, I was in a hurry so didn’t bother to think about it. I just ate what I wanted to and left handing Rs 30 to the owner.
I went back to the bus stop just to find that the bus was not yet there. I waited. Waited, hoping that it will come soon.
Soon, a bus came. But it wasn’t the one I was supposed to board. I still waited. Waited, hoping it would come soon. Waited, hoping the next bus which would come would be the one I was suppose to go in.
I waited for 10 more minutes and finally all my hopes came true. I went in to find my seat. The ticket said seat no. 15, but surprisingly there were no seat numbers on the seats.
“Bullshit…what to do now??”
Just then a person came in with some papers in his hands. He looked like the conductor or may be the driver.
I asked plainly. “where should I go?”
“there”, he pointed out to a seat. I went on and made myself comfortable.
“number 11?”, someone confused like me asked him.
“there.”, he pointed out to the seat besides me. HOW CAN 11 AND 15 both be side by side??!!??
“ek minit bhai.(one minute brother)” , the man with seat number 11 came towards me and asked me to shift so that he can get in.
“apka seat number?(your seat number?)” I asked politely.
“gyarah(eleven)”
“mera pandrah hai(mine is 15)” I said frowning.
“sahi hai(nice)”
“haan 15 aur 11 ek saath…kuch locha lag raha hai mereko(hmmm…11 and 15 side by side…something is definitely wrong)”
“kya farak padta hai(what so bothering?)”
“padta hai dost(yes it is). We are the ones who let it go and they do what they want.”
“tention not bhai..pandrah ek piche hogi…par seat hi hogi sleeping wali to ho nahi sakti…aapne paise to seat ke hi diye hain..(tention not brother…15 might be the back one…but it would only be the seating one…not the sleeping one…you’ve paid for seating only.)” He was certainly right.
“yeah right”
“anyways I am Imran Khan” He said with a smile.
“I am Parth Walunjkar”
To Be Continued…….
