This is some serious issue. Don’t laugh out on this one please.
Water, the resource which is said to be the potential reason for another world war, is turning more and more precious. And once a thing starts becoming precious, it becomes a status symbol.
India, specially Madhya Pradesh, is facing this problem of water scarcity. So, this is what I think can happen in a few years, not only in India, but anywhere in the world. And mind it, the characters do not neccesarily belong to India.
………………………………………………………………………………..
” Bye Honey! Will be back at seven.”
“Honey, you are forgetting something.”
And Mr.Lambert moved towards his wife. NO! They didn’t kiss! THey had something much more important. Mrs. Lambert handed him two buckets.
“Get them filled so that we are free for a month atleast.”
…………………………………………………………………………………………………..
Mr.Lambert picks up the newspaper kept on his office desk. It read:
“…Government ready to bring up a law by which the filmmakers will not be able to show water in the film.”
“…the movie ‘WATER’ ’s CD’s and DVD’s will not be available until they change the title of the movie.”
“….government lowers pricesof water. Good news for the citizens, although at the time of elections, that the water would be availableat Rs. 50/litre, Rs 2/litre less.”
………………………………………………………………………………
Mr.Lambert goes back home with two buckets full of water as he promised. While on the move, he is stopped by a group of boys.
“Open the doors. QUICK!!” One of them ordered and showed a gun.
Mr.Lambert, horrified, quickly opened the door. The boys got in. They saw one wallet lying and two buckets full of water.
As expected they took away the buckets and left the wallet.
Mr.Lambert, dissapointed, went back to his home. Her wife waiting for him. She didn’t see the buckets.
“What happened dear?”
He explained everything.
“Don’t worry we will register F.I.R and we will get the water back soon and we can take buckets back by the insurance money.”
PS: we STILL write here.
PS: its just that it was too long.
PS: rock on!!

Someone rightly said that the wars of 21st century will be fought on water and not land. The recent scrabble in the state of MP is perhaps just a harbinger of things to come.
Scarcity of water resources is scary enough. But more pathetic is the total lack of respect and sense of conservation for the existing water bodies and resources.
